I’d Much Rather

sc000b938d

It just so happens that nearly every beautiful day in the week happens to land on a day I’m trapped at work for 8 hours. Luckily, it sort of lingers once I get home. I am currently blogging on the back porch in a comfy romper, with the sun shining. Even though I am still enjoying the warmth and golden glow of one of nature’s greatest Vitamin D sources, I couldn’t help but think of all the stuff I would’ve rather been doing during those pesky hours between 9 and 5.

  • waking up late, opening the window, and eating breakfast in bed while watching 30 Rock or a movie
  • laying out on a blanket with a glass of lemonade and a good book or magazine
  • taking one or all of my cameras out for a nature walk
  • heading to the park for a picnic
  • driving some place new and exploring

Vacation will be nice. And short…but nice. At least I have a 3 day weekend this weekend. I’m looking forward to it. I’m not wishing for it to come quickly, though, because I know it will leave then, just as fast.

Bare Legs

Our little heat wave will be ending soon, but I’m enjoying every moment. Even though I don’t get home ‘til 5, the weather is still nice enough to wear dresses and shorts and stay completely comfortable. I’ll miss it when it goes away, but I know it will only come back again…

I am in awe of my Canon sometimes. The second photo was taken by using the optical zoom and I just feel like the quality is so clear. I am obsessed with the picture…I could see it in some kind of nature magazine. Regardless, I’m happy to have it in my collection.

It’s the weekend and it’s spring…

The original version of this song is one of my all-time favorites and this cover is adorable. I first heard it around this time last year, if not a bit earlier, so it’s definitely one of my spring anthems.

The weather is gorgeous. I am finally out of work and don’t have to worry about a darned thing but having fun and celebrating Easter this weekend (which will basically be me and pops heading to mass on Sunday).

I received both of the cameras in the mail in the past two days. I love each one. I cannot wait to share more about them…soon. Time to go shower, paint my toenails, and enjoy the night…my plans are still a little loose so I’m excited to see where I end up.

10-Day Forecast

Holga 014 It is soooo nice to check Weather.com and see sunshine and temperatures in the 50s! I feel like it’s been too long. Sure, it looks like there will be some impending rain at the end of the weekend. But…it isn’t snow!

The way I see it, it will only go up from here. Eventually, it will be consistently above 50 and 60 degrees. And eventually, I will not need a coat anymore. And eventually the sun will shine longer and I will be licking melted ice cream cone off my hand, all relaxed and tired from swimming and sunning the whole day. Yum!

Freedom

I feel bad for all them buggers that are stuck at school.

Thursday was gorgeous, and instead of spending a few hours in a classroom or campus or worrying about homework, I got to shop at King of Prussia and spend my day out and about doing whatever I so choose.

Though I love the huge mall, I hardly ever buy things there. I get so intimidated by the expensive stores. But I prefer to hold onto my money for things I really love anyway.

Even though I did buy one thing (I love that each item is so unique at the store. I have the purple/nude bra too, but my tie-dye is completely different.)…haha.

In other news, my weekend might actually be a good one. I don’t always have plans, especially not ones that involve spending the night at a friend’s house with a bunch of other friends and doing fun things. So…YAY!

Fine Arts Fiesta

Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania may seem like it doesn’t have a lot to offer, but I adore the place. It’s a city, but it’s small enough that you don’t feel claustrophobic. And there’s the perfect blend of homeless crazies and classy business workers abound in the square.

Last weekend, the annual Fine Arts Fiesta came to town and settled in on the tiny square. It was filled with tents carrying everything from watercolor paintings to blown glass wind chimes, photography to tie-dye. I fell in love with a piece from every booth. In fact, I ended up buying a cute ceramic dog tag with an Elephant on it (they are my favorite animals) .I wish I had more pictures from the event, showcasing the Corona bottle wind chime I couldn’t stop admiring or the massive amount of fried food stands. I will take a picture of my found treasure soon.

Here are a few fun pictures anyways…

Oh yeah…I failed to mention I got halted by local news station WBRE to discuss the topic of “butt dialing”. I can tell you, I didn’t see if I made it on air, but if I did…it was a gem.

It's a Beautiful Day

St. Patrick's Day, 2009.
I do not follow this holiday.
I was actually going to spend my 24 hours in a drunken stupor, which I've never done before.
But I am 21, after all, and why the heck not?
I'm a senior in college.
But things came up...not so good things.
So I'm trying to make the most of the day, and probably celebrating small, after everything has been accomplished.
What can you do?

On a side note, I'm getting sad about my impending graduation.
The springtime has always been the best time during my past 3...well, 4 now at school.
But each has been different.
I'm missing each of them.
And wishing this one didn't feel so final.

More skirts and tights today! So happy.

Scarf -thrifted
Striped Henley - Old Navy
Gray pocket skirt - Pac Sun (same as black one yesterday)
Burgundy stirrup tights - American Apparel
Mocassins - old Payless

Sunshine

I spent five hours in the car, driving, today.
The reason I was driving so long was because it decided to snow pretty monstrously. And I couldn't get out of driving because I had to pick my sister up from the airport an hour away. She was coming back from FLORIDA. Go figure.
I can't get over how much I hated on myself after London.
I am looking back at pictures and kinda missing and liking myself back then. Or maybe its because I had a bit of color and it was summer.
It's Spring Break folks.
But I guess there's a reason why King's College, located in ever-changing Wilkes-Barre, PA, calls it Winter Recess instead.

I miss my hair like this...NATURAL. And I miss light clothes and my sunny backyard.
