A Great Weekend for a Wedding

This past weekend was gorgeous. Sunny, warm…the perfect springtime weather.
Which also meant it was the perfect weekend for a beautiful weekend. My friends Mark and Amanda got married at the lovely
Holly Hedge Estate in New Hope and the place is so pretty and dreamy and quiet and quaint.
The ceremony was outdoors and I didn’t need tights or a jacket! Amazing.
Here are some photos from the wedding.

I have a ridiculous amount of photos.
On our way home on Sunday, Lauren, Brad, and I stopped by Peddler’s Village. We were very tired and pretty hungover (come on, it was a wedding after all! Open bar!), but it was the perfect weather so we had to stop by. I am so glad we got to check it out.
And I have tons of photos from that….but I’ll save that for later.

Currently, I’m resting. We took a vacation day and I am so glad. I knew I’d need the recuperation!
Have a happy Monday!

The Great Outdoors

IMG_0002

Everything is green and lovely again! I can sit under the trees and listen to the leaves rustle for hours.
It was painful sitting at work all day today. I desperately wanted to be reading or writing outside on a big comfy blanket under a gigantic tree, sipping iced coffee without a single care in the world.

Here are some pictures from my Lomo Fisheye NO. 2 from a couple of springs ago…

Sad Fact: I haven’t taken a picture with my Fisheye or developed any film from the Fisheye since 2010. Must be fixed. SOON.

Sunset Stroll

Friday was an absolutely beautiful day. I couldn’t wait to get out of work and enjoy the sunshine and warm breeze. As soon as I got home from work, Brad and I threw on some comfy clothes, grabbed Cali’s leash, and took a walk across the bridge.

It was the last nice day in a while. It’s gotten colder and it’s consistently rainy and gray.
But I can be happy knowing more days like this will come again soon.

April Showers…

Things are finally starting to bloom around here. It’s going to take some time, and Lord knows the weather will still be fickle, but my camera and I are both very excited for all of the happy changes to come. We are both so sick of bare branches and gray skies.

First Day of Spring

I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather, but I still managed to break out the Rebel with Brad this weekend for a jaunt downtown on the first day of Spring. It was kind of a perfect day. A little chilly, but warm in the sun. Everyone was out walking there dogs, chatting with friends, driving with the windows down, getting Free Rita’s Italian Ice (we did too!). Since Brad’s Canon 7D is still brand new and I haven’t pulled out my Canon in a while, it seemed appropriate to take advantage of the kind weather, blue skies, and sunshine.

I can’t wait for things to actually start blooming around here. It was a great day, but the trees are still mostly brittle branches and I miss the colorful Earth. Walking around downtown Wilkes-Barre had me all college nostalgic. My friends and I most definitely would’ve been sitting outside, walking to get our Rita’s, and enjoying the sunshine together. So much has changed…growing up is weird. But regardless, King’s College is a small but beautiful campus, especially when the cherry blossoms bloom. I’ll be keeping my eye out for them.

Unfortunately, the temperatures have dropped once again and there has been a slight snow shower with another looming for tomorrow. I can’t wait for those shenanigans to be over. This has been a tough winter. I don’t think my body agrees with winter for long, though.
I’m ready for the new season and, hopefully, a new chapter.

Trees

IMG I am slightly obsessed and in love with trees at the moment. I think I started to forget what blue skies and green leaves looked like. It’s kind of sad. But at least I’m happy now and at least it’s spring. My drive to and from work is actually pleasant and not so doom and gloom these days. But that’s just it, I have to be sitting inside for 40 hours every week, not enjoying it. I cannot wait to lay out a blanket and read under a tree very soon.

Bare Legs

Our little heat wave will be ending soon, but I’m enjoying every moment. Even though I don’t get home ‘til 5, the weather is still nice enough to wear dresses and shorts and stay completely comfortable. I’ll miss it when it goes away, but I know it will only come back again…

I am in awe of my Canon sometimes. The second photo was taken by using the optical zoom and I just feel like the quality is so clear. I am obsessed with the picture…I could see it in some kind of nature magazine. Regardless, I’m happy to have it in my collection.

It’s the weekend and it’s spring…

The original version of this song is one of my all-time favorites and this cover is adorable. I first heard it around this time last year, if not a bit earlier, so it’s definitely one of my spring anthems.

The weather is gorgeous. I am finally out of work and don’t have to worry about a darned thing but having fun and celebrating Easter this weekend (which will basically be me and pops heading to mass on Sunday).

I received both of the cameras in the mail in the past two days. I love each one. I cannot wait to share more about them…soon. Time to go shower, paint my toenails, and enjoy the night…my plans are still a little loose so I’m excited to see where I end up.

Spring Weekend

You know those days where you just kinda fly by the seat of your pants? That was yesterday for me, and quite perfect considering the beautiful weather for the first day of Spring.

Plans sort of fell through, but we didn’t let that stop us. A couple summers ago (actually, almost 3…damn), we made a dance video and everyone’s been itching to make another. So we set out to meet at our friend’s house and film some clips. Yeah, he wasn’t home. So we ended up filming some stuff anyways, and eventually wandering to the nearby baseball field to shoot some more stuff and have an impromptu playground photo shoot.

behind IMG_2694 flip IMG_2755 slide air After this, we decided to get some free Rita’s. Ed never had Rita’s Italian Ice before, but what better time to try it than when you don’t have to pay? I’m pleased to say his fickle taste buds enjoyed!
IMG_2846 IMG_2842I love random fun days. And wearing a light jacket. I have new sunglasses to rock for this spring 2010. And, obviously, great friends to spend sunny days with. Life is good.

10-Day Forecast

Holga 014 It is soooo nice to check Weather.com and see sunshine and temperatures in the 50s! I feel like it’s been too long. Sure, it looks like there will be some impending rain at the end of the weekend. But…it isn’t snow!

The way I see it, it will only go up from here. Eventually, it will be consistently above 50 and 60 degrees. And eventually, I will not need a coat anymore. And eventually the sun will shine longer and I will be licking melted ice cream cone off my hand, all relaxed and tired from swimming and sunning the whole day. Yum!
