I have a massive crush on Joseph Gilgun, who plays Rudy on Misfits.
That’s all.
When it comes to music, I can be a little picky and finicky on the first listen. A couple of months ago, my sister was playing Lana Del Rey on YouTube and trying to introduce me to it. Guess it wasn’t the right time for me. Cut to last Thursday. Maria starts playing the few videos
Lana Del Rey has and they stuck with me. I’ve been playing Video Games and Blue Jeans repeatedly (annoying my boyfriend along the way).
I just love the beautiful lyrics and music and her wonderful voice. Can’t wait for her album to come out at the end of the month.
It was due-time for another crush. This one just so happens to be on an adorable and musically inclined married couple. When I initially bought the tickets for the Max Bemis acoustic show, I was all about seeing him perform some of my favorite Say Anything tunes. Say Anything was pretty much my favorite band back in my college years, and …is a Real Boy remains one of my favorite albums of all time. I’ve seen the band a couple of times before, but I was really excited for this intimate setting (and yes, I definitely teared up once or twice). I knew of the band Eisley and of Sherri Dupree-Bemis (you can follow her on Instagram @sdupreebemis to see so many adorable pictures!!), but seeing them sing together live cemented my love for this duo. All the pictures here were taken from Sherri’s Flickr or Tumblr.
They are just too cute!!!!
I have blogged about Florence + the Machine and Florence Welch quite a few times (like here and here and here), and I’m sorry, but I have to do it again. I’ve been listening to her latest album, Ceremonials, non-stop. No sophomore slump here, guys. It is a beautiful album and she just has such power, in her voice and the emotions that she conveys. I am obsessed. Re-obsessed.

One of my many favorite tunes off the new album. Her voice kills me.
A couple of years ago, my sister introduced me to Lykke Li. I automatically fell in love, specifically with her song “Little Bit.” It was the perfect spring song, because I find this time of year to be perfect for falling in love/lust/crush. When it comes to female singers, I have always been inclined to appreciate a different sound (Sia, Bjork, Florence to name a few…). Lykke Li has this perfect, whispery sound that can go from innocent and sweet to passionate and strong. Her voice is instantly recognizable and, in my opinion, makes everything better. Still not sure how I feel about her second album, Wounded Rhymes, just yet. But I will always highly recommend Youth Novels.
Pretty sure I’ve gushed about Emma Stone in the past. But she’s so fantastic, I had to have another go at it. Emma Stone just seems cool. Funny, smart, down to earth…all of this seems true for her. That personality is super important. But I’m not gonna lie…she’s ridiculously gorgeous! And what’s more, she can rock pretty much every hair color, something I am incredibly jealous of.
Emma Stone is currently in a platinum blonde phase (because of this), and I LOVE it. She looks feminine and womanly, a bit more mature, yet fun and sexy! But she looks fantastic with any look, and I’m so excited to see how her career goes. I hope she’s around for a long time.

It’s hard to choose favorite pictures of my ultra long-time girl crush. Here are just a few. Oh man, she’s so perfect.
And now, not only is she receiving rave reviews for the greatest role of her career thus far, but she is pregnant and engaged! Looks like she has a lot of good things to look forward to in the future…and I could totally tell she was hiding a belly in recent photos!!!!
As a hardcore fan of Natalie Portman, it’s important that I see this just because of that sheer fact (Ok…so I still haven’t seen Brothers…but who has? Maybe I should rent that soon…).
But this movie looks visually stunning, super-crazy (so, yeah, I’m intrigued) and Natalie and the film itself are getting rave reviews.
Unfortunately, I live in a crap area. So, it’ll be a little while until it comes to one of the movie theaters around here…even though it came out on December 3rd. But mark my words…I will be making a theater trip for this movie. It cannot wait for DVD.
