The Great Outdoors

IMG_0002

Everything is green and lovely again! I can sit under the trees and listen to the leaves rustle for hours.
It was painful sitting at work all day today. I desperately wanted to be reading or writing outside on a big comfy blanket under a gigantic tree, sipping iced coffee without a single care in the world.

Here are some pictures from my Lomo Fisheye NO. 2 from a couple of springs ago…

Sad Fact: I haven’t taken a picture with my Fisheye or developed any film from the Fisheye since 2010. Must be fixed. SOON.

Tired and ready for the weekend…

IMG_0016

I can’t stress this enough, but I don’t like to get too personal on the blog. I love sharing stories and pictures of good things…I don’t want to use this blog as a forum to rant. But I’m exhausted and more than ready for the weekend. Some things changed at work, and now I’m going between two offices. Even though I end the week closer to home (and I can come home during my lunch break), there’s a lot of stuff to get used to. And now, my first Saturday shift is tomorrow and I’m nervous. And also…I just don’t feel like working. But Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and I have that off. And because I have that off, and I don’t work next Saturday, I will have a four day week. So…as much as I want to whine and complain, I still get two (and a half) days to rest before next week, which will be a whole day shorter than the usual work week.

Gotta think positive, right?

In weekend news, I have a couple of little plans here and there but nothing huge and nothing that feels concrete. So who knows where my free days will take me? I only hope I have some stories, pictures, and positivity to share with y’all come the new week.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Fisheye

Oh man, I’m going to miss summer. But, the chilly weather has actually brought a strange hopefulness with it. As much as I’m not excited for jacket weather, chattering teeth, and making an effort to put on my shoes, it’s time for change. And I feel like it might be for the better…

Redscale Fisheye

I’m pretty pleased with my first round of Redscale film. Unfortunately, quite a few didn’t come out (I know for a fact I took two with the cap on accidentally, and I guess I didn’t get enough light with the bulb mode at night). The photos look even better in print, but obviously I can’t show them to you like that. Here are some of my favorite prints. Enjoy!

New Fisheyes

I like to post some of my favorite pictures from each camera whenever I get a new roll developed. So sue me.

On a side note, it has been a gloomy couple of days. The weekend brought sunshine, but it almost feels like forever ago. It doesn’t help my massive case of grumps. And I better cheer up…for tomorrow…

Joyeux

IMG_0001{I love our backyard too}

I love spring. I love the month of May. It’s been easier to see the bright side when the sky is actually blue. Even when it’s rainy and gray, the trees are such a brilliant green. It blows my mind. I am in love with the Earth. The world. The universe. Everyone. Most importantly, I’m happy that the next two weekends will be work-free, which is a blessing for so many reasons and especially because I had to work the last two Saturdays. I am excited to use some free passes to Knoebels I scored from work, turn my alarm off, celebrate a friend’s birthday, and of course celebrate Mother’s Day with the family.

Other things I love…

  • Reading. Thank God I can get away with it at work during downtime. I love the way my mind drowns into the material. I am a film geek through and through, but books will always be a much more engaging experience in the end. I go in and out of reading fits, but I truly hope I keep it up this time around.
  • All of my cameras. I’ve been trying to give them equal time, and even though I wanna use them all up, I’m trying to save them for the best pictures and look back and marvel at the photos I forgot I took.
  • Delicious food (tacos with tons of sour cream) , even if it means standing in line for over 90 minutes to get it.
  • Rediscovering music you loved once before but pushed aside for new stuff.

I hope I have some great pictures to show you this weekend. I am excited to see my sister and cram my 2 days of freedom with tons of fun. I hope everyone gets to do the same!!!

Happy Weekend!

IMG_0014

I’m about to get in my car and drive to Philly in less than an hour. I’ll be staying ‘til Monday to bar hop, eat delicious food, do a bit of shopping and wandering around the city, and see Hot Chip live!

I’m very excited. Philadelphia is always my little escape. I’m exhausted and I’ll be crashing on an inflatable bed…but it’ll be worth it, I’m sure.

Have a great weekend everyone, whatever you do!!!

Fisheye Love

I got my first roll of film developed from the Lomo Fisheye No. 2. Needless to say, I’ve fallen completely and utterly in love. All of my cameras are my babies, it’s hard to choose which one I like most! But this is definitely a great addition to the collection (and, alright, my favorite right now). I dropped the film off at Rite Aid during my morning break and had the finished products in my hand by lunchtime. So happy.

So glad it has a flash so I can take pictures anytime. So happy for multiple exposures. So happy for bulb mode. But pretty much all of my pictures were taken with a normal shutter speed and the light of day. I’m so pleased. I can’t wait for more!
