Pinterest has given me high hopes…

I have no clue when I will have an apartment (let alone a house) to call my own. But Pinterest (Follow me!) has been steadily preparing me by giving me the highest hopes for a beautiful home. I did a post like this once before, and it’s basically the same idea. I adore cozy hideaway spaces where I can sip on coffee or wine and read and write and listen to beautiful music.
The true idea of Home Sweet Home to me.

I sure hope I get lucky enough to have a beautiful place soon.

Vacation, all I ever wanted.

ocpostcard

A tiny heat wave hit NEPA this week, and I found myself daydreaming about summer and my upcoming vacation in July. Granted, I have a bit more than two months of waiting until my paid vacation arrives (5 days paid, 9 days total including weekends…super important!), but the fact that it is coming is comforting. Brad and I scheduled the same week off, and we decided to go half-and-half. We’ll spend the first few days of our freedom in Ocean City, Maryland and the rest will be total stay-cation time. We already have a little spot picked out and dates set…it’s very exciting! I haven’t been to OCMD since 2005, the summer after I graduated high school. I stayed in a little condo with a bunch of boys (none of my girl friends wanted to go, and my boyfriend of the time was part of the trip). I’m excited to go back and experience it again. I grew up with summer vacation at the Jersey Shore (Wildwood Crest to be exact) and OCMD was a huge step up for me. I’ll always have a spot in my heart for those family vacations (and wouldn’t mind going back, especially to Cape May!), but it’ll be nice to get away with the boy for a bit.

I’m so excited to lounge on the beach with a good book, relaxing to the sound of the waves crashing. To roam the boardwalk for pizza and fries and rides and tacky shirt stores. To feel the salty summer air. To forget about everything.

Inspirado

I love photography. Or pictures. Picture taking. Memories on film and in JPG. Sharing them with people. Getting inspiration.

When I look at stuff like this, I get mixed feelings. I’m so excited to take great photos and share my moments and memories and things I think are beautiful. And at the same time, I think…”Who are you kidding? You’re not that good.” But you know what? I’m getting really sick of thinking that way. I’m getting really sick of holding myself back. I’m not perfect. And you can’t always win and have the best pictures all the time. Some win, some lose. But if you work hard enough, and are passionate enough, I think anything can happen.

I just gotta get some of that confidence.

The Foreseeable Future

Now that I’m out of college (I’m saying that like it hasn’t almost been a whole year), I feel a little…lost. I have a job (even if it isn’t my dream job) that keeps me occupied 40 hours a week. I have friends to hang out with during my down time. But otherwise, I have no idea where my life is going to take me, and it’s a little freaky. There are all those little milestones (getting my own place, getting married, starting a family…) that I suppose are expected of me. But who knows when or if they’ll even happen?

Anyways, I’ve decided to always have something to look forward to, even if it’s just something small. So far, I’ve bought tickets to three concerts. The first is April 25th, to see Hot Chip. I’m so excited. I’ll be spending the whole weekend in Philly, catching up with some friends, and hitting the town with my sister and her friends.

Broken Bells is June 6th. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

Then Kings of Leon for my second time, August 5th, with my BFFFFFFFFFFF Rafter. The show is in Camden, and we only got lawn seats, but I’m excited to tailgate and dance to one of my absolute favorite bands. It also happens to be during my scheduled paid vacation, another thing to look forward to.

Nine days without work in the beginning of August to enjoy the summer and relaxation…

So far, the planning ahead is working. I love having things to look forward to.

Dream House

riversideMy cousin is getting married in November, so her fiancĂ©’s parents held an engagement party at their house on the lake in New Jersey. I fell in love instantly. Something about water calms me and makes me feel alive. Not to mention the house itself was gorgeous…
riverside2When we raved about the place (from the location to the decor), her future mother-in-law said she felt so blessed to be able to have such a wonderful house in such a beautiful spot, which I thought was perfect. I love when people are thankful for what they have, especially when it is so amazing. You can tell they worked for it and on it to make it perfect, and I hope it’s not the last time I get to see the place (and maybe one day own a house just like it…).

P.S. That camera below should be coming in the mail sometime next week. Yes, I’ll have 5 cameras. No, I don’t really care. Actually, yes I do. I love it.
