I’m pretty sure this is already my favorite movie.
Fridays are supposed to be the day to look forward to. The end of the work/school week. The beginning of a couple of days of freedom. You make plans with friends or lovers or family to spend time. You can stay up late and sleep in later.
Except for when you have to work the next day…and your brain is fried to the point of exhaustion and grumpiness. And when your coworkers are tossing around strep throat or some other infection. I hate living in dread of getting sick. And I can’t afford it so…tonight’s dinner? Chicken soup and multiple cups of green tea. And a heavy dose of mind over matter.
Luckily, my weekend will begin at 1 PM tomorrow and it should prove to be as wonderful and relaxing and fun and unpredictable as all the others. So…I’ll work for that…

It’s been oddly chilly these last couple days. I guess it shouldn’t be too weird considering it still isn’t officially summer yet. But that’s literally right around the corner. So hopefully the anticipated heatwave coming this weekend will stick around for the next few months.
Anyways, considering I always find myself running around or surrounding myself with friends, I was thankful to come home from work, throw on some comfy clothes and watch Youth in Revolt. I liked it, even though it is getting to the point where Michael Cera pretty much plays Michael Cera in every movie he’s in. But still, I enjoyed it and would probably give it another go at a later date. I’m also enjoying a tasty Wildberry Banana smoothie (with whipped cream, always). Days like this, when I’m constantly in a fetal cuddling position, almost make it impossible to sleep. But I need to rest, because I plan on having a fun-filled (albeit sweaty) weekend. Wine festival, swimming, more than one adult beverage, and eventually celebrating Father’s Day! Oh, and it’s finally a full weekend of freedom. To top it all off, my sister Maria comes home tomorrow and I’ll have a full week to hang out with her before she heads off to Florida, like she always tends to do in the summertime. Tons to be happy about.

Let’s face it. Our world is obsessed with all things digital. We want whatever we want fast. Digital cameras are such a fantastic invention. When you take a picture, you can check it right away (and retake the photo if one or all objects are off until you get it right) and immediately upload it so that it can be dispersed as quickly as possible. That’s why it’s so rough to be in love with quite a few film cameras…especially my newbie. I have to wait until I’m done with the whole roll to get it developed and wait for that to be finished so I can finally see the picture. But it’s the element of surprise that always makes it that much better I suppose. I’m getting myself psyched by checking out photos albums on the LOMO site. Here are a few of my favorites…
