Diana Mini

These Diana Mini pics are so way overdue. For starters, a lot of the pictures are from January/February. And then I finally got them developed in July, during my vacation. I put off scanning so many pictures after the demise and rebirth of my laptop in the springtime. I promise to keep up to date with these things. I’ve become pretty crap at using my cameras (stupid lovely iPhone). I must fix that.
There are so many things I must do with my cameras. Time to start this up again…

I still very much love my Diana Mini, and I’m working on my 3rd roll. It’s frustrating, all the time I take and how long I let the camera sit.
But it was so nice seeing photos from my trip to Long Island all the way back in January and things I may have forgotten along the way.

Quick and Quiet Weekend

Already, back to the grind. Man, it is so sad how quickly these days are going. Of course, I love that I’ve accomplished 2 out of the 3 Saturdays I was working in a row and all but…time is flying! How is it already August 15th? Here in NEPA, it is starting to feel like fall. I know the cool weather won’t last, but a lot of my friends are teachers and they will all be heading back to school soon and it’s crazy.

Anyway, this was a very quick and simple weekend. Because I had work on Saturday, I stayed in and ordered Chinese on Friday. It’s one of my favorite things to do for myself when I’m stuck inside on a Friday with work the next day. Chinese takeout. I finished the night by drinking copious amounts of green tea and honey, DJing my Zune for my mother and I, and scanning in photos that should’ve been done months ago. Maybe that sounds sad for a Friday night, but it was exactly what I needed. On Saturday, Dana and I went to see the Glee concert movie. It was just something fun to do…not really a good “movie.” Wish I could see the actual concert!!! Ended the weekend with a trip to our friend Amy’s for a Pampered Chef party. It was nice to see her and her adorable place with her fiancĂ©.

It’s back to the grind, but I’m getting closer to free weekends. And Brad will be home from Boston today, so yay for that!

For now, here are some Instax photos from the spring that I finally scanned.

Here’s to a great week, everyone!

Friday

I have to say, this week went insanely fast. I can’t believe it’s already Friday. It’s been a weird one, and I’ve been fighting a cold or allergies the whole week. Mix in the full moon, and you have one strange week dealing with weird people (including myself) and nursing myself back to health. I have work yet again tomorrow, but no biggie. Brad’s off to Boston, and I’m insanely jealous and hope I can make it there soon. So many places I want to see (even places that are a short/long drive away) and not enough time to go. What a frustrating predicament. Which is why finding a new job becomes important. I know it’s silly, but I want my weekends. I want to say TGIF every Friday and know that I will not have to work for two full days. That’s how it should be. For everyone. Just saying.

What little weekend I have is full of fun activities. Glee in 3D, my first Pampered Chef party (I’m broke, but whatevz), and plenty of nothing while I can do it. And after this one, only 1 more Saturday shift to go before everything goes back to normal. And I plan on keeping it that way. I work with my schedule…so it would be nice if everyone else worked with theirs. (I got snippy…sorry)

Everything’s Not Lost

This song popped into my head randomly last night, but I’m thankful for it.It’s been a long time since I heard it, but it’s a classic in my mind. And perfectly appropriate for this time in my life. Parachutes came out when I was in junior high and I fell in love immediately.
I’m not much of a Coldplay fan these days, but this album will always be a favorite of mine.

More Hair Lust and Changes….

(Apologies for the lack of post yesterday. Monday turned out to be an unlucky day filled with car troubles, a sore throat, and various other things not going right. I turned in early to avoid further illness/negativity, though I do seem to be fighting a sort of summer cold. I hate missing blog posts…maybe I’ll make up for it with an extra one later…)

So the thing is, I basically want to chop all of my hair off. Regular readers have seen stupid hair posts multiple times on the blog and I’m always so indecisive about the whole thing. I’ve done this before, so it’s not like it’s a new thing. It wouldn’t be a huge shock to my system. I am craving the ease. I watch Brad quickly muss his hair up after a shower and I’m jealous and miss the days my getting-ready-procedure was that quick. It’s funny, but the main reason I want super short hair again is because, well…I’m lazy. It’s lovely, yes, but mostly it’s good for someone who hates fussing and fiddling with frizz and unwanted curling. There is a lot of pressure (that I put on myself, really, only) that comes with it though. You have to be confident. There’s nothing to hide behind. So the question is…will I do it? I don’t know. But Carey Mulligan is definitely my pixie lust object. She pulled it off (and is growing it out) perfectly and everything from the cut to the styling has been impeccable and admirable. I only hope if I go through with it, it will look as good as hers.

Sunday Morning

Sunday was the only full day I had this weekend. And it will be for the next two weeks, as well. It’s no fun losing Saturday mornings. Sure, I only work until 1 PM. But by the time I get ready and into weekend-mode, it’s early evening and I wonder where my day went. Regardless, it was a good Sunday. Brad made breakfast (he is a great cook), we wandered around the mall (I bought a pair of Vibram Five Fingers…eek!), and ate ribs for dinner with his family. Best part? Sunday night blues fell by the wayside, as I spent the night with Brad again.
Mondays aren’t so hard to deal with when you wake up next to your love.

All photos taken at breakfast yesterday.
I used the Camera+ app for iPhone. Total iPhoneography addict right here. It’s a perfectly good camera with tons of fun apps.
How can one go wrong?
I’ll start using my not-so-cheap DSLR again soon….

Friday

This week was a huge blur. Of recuperating, of making small changes, of going to the gym. Of evening naps. Of wishful thinking. Of finishing books and starting new ones. Time is flying. I can’t believe it’s already August. Fall will be here soon. A time of change. Maybe my time will come. Until then, all I can do is hope and try and pray for the best. I work the next 3 Saturdays, so no Friday night date nights to look forward to for a while. I still get time with my boyfriend this weekend. Any morning I wake up next to him is a good day. I still get time with my friends this weekend. Anytime I’m with them, I can laugh and be happy. So here’s to a weekend of forgetting the bad and working towards the good.
