She’s Just Being Miley

I, by no means, enjoy Miley Cyrus. I think she acts too old for her 16 year age (hello half-naked pictures, way older (ex)boyfriend, and rude YouTube video blogs).

However, while perusing Wal-Mart like I usually do, I noticed a whole section in the apparel department dedicated to her. Now, it wasn’t too long ago that the only clothing the store had with her name on it was t-shirts plastered with Hannah Montana’s face. But now, she and Max Azria got together to make a pretty decent line. Nothing is over 20 dollars and everything is pretty cute.

The leggings and animal print jeans are super trendy, but everything else has a casual and basic feel to it. Most of the shirts I like are under 8 dollars. Here’s a few of my favorites:

I love…

- Taking my multivitamin daily
- Mashed Potatoes
- Falling in love with new songs
- Having activities to look forward to
- Ron Weasley/Rupert Grint
- Dev Patel of Slumdog Millionaire

Dev Patel couldn’t be cuter. Plus, I’ve always been into tall, lanky, dark-haired boys. This interview is adorable, as is every other one I YouTubed in the last 24 hours.

Music Makes Everything Better

It’s true. Music is such a wonderful thing. You can be in the worst of moods and, with the right song, you’ll find yourself jumping around, dancing, and singing.

Recommended:

Try and watch this without dancing like a fiend. Friendly Fires just might be one of my new favorite bands.

Lykke Li’s voice is outstanding. Check out this one too. She sounds like a flute sometimes, I can’t help but fall in love.

Oh and, New Young Pony Club’s album has been a stand-by for me since winter of 2007. Their amazing, dance-y, poppy songs are only just getting play on commercials now. This one is one of the bests.

Hi, I’m Michal Lynn

sc000d144d(Holga by me!)

Just so you know…

  • I love doing laundry. Often times, I wait until my hamper is overflowing to do it. But everything about it is enjoyable to me, i.e., organizing, folding, the fresh scent, the fact that I can wear that pair of jeans that was at the bottom for the past few weeks again.
  • Bacon is quite possibly the best food that ever happened to the planet. Anyone who knows me well knows that I get extremely excited when bacon gets tossed into the mix. I love it with eggs, I love it on sandwiches, and if something is wrapped in bacon…even better! I’m sure my arteries hate me for this…but I don’t really mind.
  • Playing Solitaire on the computer is one of my favorite things to do these days. It all started when the internet was down and my dad was fixing it and I already had my laptop all set up and I was ready to go on. So as I waited, I clicked on Games and found myself playing it several times a day every single day since then.

Just felt like sharing a few random things about me.

On another note, I’m picking up my third pack of Holga prints tomorrow before work. I’m hoping to have them scanned sometime tomorrow night. And I’m also hoping that the couple of spills that Holga took didn’t affect anything!

Shop ‘Til You Drop

How I wish I had more money to spend on beautiful clothes. Today, I walked through Old Navy with my sister and there were so many outstanding tank tops and t-shirts in fantastic colors. I know the store is reasonably priced, but I honestly can’t afford the luxury of buying clothes at the moment.

It won’t stop me from looking though. And I just found a new blog to enjoy, and she has an amazing Etsy shop. Recycling old t-shirts into scarves, necklaces, and headbands. There is a sale going on ‘til this Tuesday and I may have to indulge…though probably not, if I want to be smart about my money…boo.

Limited Release

How frustrating is it to be stuck in a bum town?

Months ago I posted about two movies I really want to see. Paper Heart is coming out this Friday (visit the website, the video clips are so funny and cute!), but 500 Days of Summer was released a couple of weeks ago in all the major cities. They play commercials on TV constantly. Ads for it are found on nearly every site I visit. There’s even a cardboard poster set up at my hometown’s movie theater. Unfortunately, though, that means nothing. Considering the film is getting a decent amount of press, I might have the benefit of seeing it on the big screen. But that’s the pits about living in a small town. While I love my home and have no problem with where I grew up, we get deprived of that experience all too often. Movies like Garden State, Juno, and Napoleon Dynamite took a month or so to make it to our movie theater and stayed in for maybe two weeks max.

I have no doubt that I will see both of these movies, and that I will enjoy it very much so when I do. But I don’t want to trek to Philadelphia (even though I love my sister and it would be fun, I can’t afford the gas and tolls right now) when I want to see an entertaining film. So…if you can hear me…make your way on down to NEPA! You can count me in on a ticket.

So and So

top_img I have to admit, though I don’t think I have any followers or frequent readers on the blog, there is nothing as satisfying as writing about things that I love or feel, or posting pictures, even if it is just for myself.

Most of the blogs I read have people showcasing their fabulous lives. Perhaps that’s why I love them…I can live vicariously through their pictures and their words. You’d think that, since I live in a rather deadbeat town and I don’t have much money or my own place or the love of my life, these things would upset me. But, they do the opposite. They inspire me.

This blog is here for me to talk about the fun things in my life. Things I like or don’t like. Pictures that I take. Unfortunately, I’ve been in a transition period, and perhaps I’m not conveying it enough. I look at some of the blogs I read, and even when the posts might not be about something mind-blowingly interesting, I am still sucked in by witty writing.

I really want to kick this blog, and my life, into high gear. Just thought I’d let you know.
