Glassisimos

Did I mention I love my glasses? Since I picked them up on Saturday, I think I’ve worn my contacts for a total of 2 hours. 002

Glasses happen to make life a bit easier. All you have to do is throw them on and BAM! You can see.

Since my little eye doctor scare in July, I’ve made sure to take good care of my peepers. I wear my glasses to work everyday. But without a doubt, I always felt…frumpy. I didn’t feel the need for makeup because I was already all downhill.

For years, I’ve wanted a nice, classic, kinda hip, young adult look for my glasses. As I grow up (barely), they should do. So I’m happy with these puppies.

Who knows when I’ll start wearing my contacts again…

Weekend

It’s been a while since I had a full weekend. I feel like most of my Saturdays have been consumed by work or work-related situations. It was nice to have one off (next one won’t be for another two weeks). I didn’t do much, it appears I’m having allergies or coming down with a cold. I think it’s because I barely ever sleep and I haven’t been staying as hydrated as I would like. Not good, Michal Lynn. Not good.

Still, I had a relaxing time. Bowling with my sister, her boyfriend, and Brad. Seeing my friend Tracy’s new place with her boyfriend Steve (sooo adorable, a cute little townhouse. I’m super jealous). And general laziness, sleeping in, and relaxation (with quite a few cups of tea).

Cannot believe I’ll be back to work for the next six days. I don’t want to do it! Don’t make me go!

In other news, I finally found a pair of glasses that are pretty much exactly what I want. Yes, they are from the Men’s section. But that doesn’t matter much to me. As I sit here wearing a pair of men’s shorts passed down to me from a friend and a Cub Scout tee.

Glasses

My eyes are in a bit of a pickle. I went to the doctor and found out that I’ve been wearing contacts way too often, and my eyes are becoming very irritated and sensitive (and in turn, bloodshot and dry and scary) because of it. According to him, this is my wake-up call. If I don’t start doing it properly, and giving my eyes a rest by wearing glasses more, I might be stuck wearing glasses to tha death. So…needless to say, I’m wearing my glasses. Especially since I’m waiting for my eyes to not be so red anymore.

Unfortunately, I’ve had this pair since 2006. Let’s just say, they aren’t exactly spot on prescription-wise, and they aren’t really my style anymore. So this is the kick in the pants I need to finally buy a pair of nice, simple, professional, womanly but also cute spectacles so that I can protect myself, look and feel comfortable with myself, and see perfectly all at the same time.

I guess it’s a little obvious what style I’m into.

Four Eyes

So, I've been stuck with glasses for a few days.
I ran out of contacts and I'm really bad with keeping up with ordering things.
So, even though I still had a pair I was using, one of them tore yesterday as I tried to clean it.
And that's okay, because I hadn't even really been wearing them.
Everyone constantly asked if I was stoned because my eyes were so bloodshot wearing them...they must have had a tear in them for a while.
I'm hoping to get a spare pair as I wait for my boxes...especially because, in less than a week, I have Commencement Ball...which I totally keep forgetting about, probably because I'm wearing an old dress and I don't have a date.
