On a boring, lazy, quiet Friday night in (yes, another night in for me), I really miss college. Yes, I still miss it…even after all this time. The real world has not matched the wonderful world of King’s yet. I’m sure it will exceed it soon enough…but ‘til then, it’s nice to remember…
There’s too many to go through…looking at these makes me really sad.
It’s strange for me to have a night alone, in the house, doing a whole lot of nothing. I try to stay out of the house as long as possible. And be surrounded by people. Don’t get me wrong, I like my alone time. But I dunno…sometimes your house just ain’t ya home.
Regardless, it was nice to just chill out. I did some extracurricular work for my job, ordered and ate a dozen mild wings from 4th Street Pub (they are delicious, and I’ve been in a wing mood all week), watched Big Bang Theory, and cleaned off my dresser. I have so much work to do in my room (though I’d really just like to move away now). But it’s good to get things done, even if it is little by little…
Tomorrow is Friday. That means I have a day and a half left of work before the weekend. Which means a day and a half until Brad’s brother’s wedding reception. And a few short days away from my first ever surgery. I’m nervous beyond words. But, I guess it’s an inevitable fact of life…? And it’s nothing huge. And it’ll be fine. Yeah…fine.
Despite the downs on this rollercoaster, I’ve realized that the majority of things in my life are very positive. So, despite my grumpiness on the weekdays, I have lots of good things to keep me going. Such as…

I think I’ve failed to mention that I will be spending next week at home, recuperating from sinus surgery. I’m slightly nervous as this is my first ever surgery, I’ve been putting it off for about 2 years, and I’ve never been put under. I have no idea what to expect.
I’m also taking Prednisone (a Steroid striper) to make the procedure a bit easier for myself, but I’m only on day 2 of 12 and…well, it hasn’t been fun thus far. Currently in numb mode. But yesterday, I was crying up a storm. Oh yeah, the side effects include MOODINESS.
I’m definitely not excited for the surgery. But I’ve needed this for a while now, and the benefits will be worth the <60 minutes under, a week off resting, and missing a couple of things along the way (No more Wine Country trip on the 23rd…my heart is more than a little broken, especially since I’ve been wanting to go again since 2 years ago…yeah, I should’ve done this procedure then…). I’m hoping that, aside from resting, I’ll have friendly visits, play some cards, eat comfort foods, and catch up on tons of television shows via Netflix.
And it wouldn’t hurt to do some soul searching and creative endeavors. I’m trying to brainstorm a way to make this blog better…or maybe even starting an entirely new one. We shall see…

Sure, I had to tough it out through gray, rainy days to get there, but it was totally worth it. The weather was clear and sunny and warm in that comfortable way all weekend. I had today off (Columbus Day), so I’ve had a nice span of time to relax, be outside, and spend time with friends.
Saturday, I had read about a Fall Foliage Festival going on at Kirby Park. The main reason I wanted to go was to see hot air balloons in flight. Unfortunately, all I saw was the people folding them up. So bummed out, especially since I was there for 2 of the 3 hours they claimed to be putting them up. Regardless, the park looked gorgeous and it was a cute little thing to see…
Yesterday, I was dying to see Maria’s new place and visit with a friend from college, Nicole. Nicole lives in an adorable apartment in an adorable neighborhood in West Philly. Maria and her are on the same street, blocks and blocks apart. But we walked about University City, I bought a pair of Levi’s floral denim leggings, ate Qdoba Mexican, had good conversation, and came to the conclusion I would love to live in a city for the sheer fact that I’d love to talk everywhere I need to go. Among many other reasons, of course…
Maria’s apartment was adorable. Ed and I visited her place, grabbed a beer at Good Dog, and called it a night.
It was a pretty perfect day.
As for today…since I’m one of very few people I know with the day off, I sat around watching Gossip Girl and took a walk with the new camera. I have so much to learn, but here are some samples thus far…
